Why families choose Seasons

The Seasons Difference

Small, home-like communities. Personal attention. Specialised support for the realities of dementia.

  • About one caregiver for every four to five residents

Seasons is designed around approximately one caregiver for every four to five residents, so our team knows each person closely and can respond more personally. Staffing is planned around assessed needs and can vary by shift.

  • Small, home-like residences

A community of just sixteen residents rather than a large institution — familiar faces, familiar routines, and the calm of an actual home.

  • Founder-led, every day

Mona Talukdar, PT, our founder, stays personally involved in daily operations — visible and accountable alongside residents, families and the care team.

  • All-inclusive rent, no automatic yearly increase

One all-inclusive monthly rent makes costs clearer, and we do not apply automatic annual rent increases. Final pricing reflects assessed care needs and any separately agreed optional services.

Clinical support behind the home-like feel

  • Complex dementia behavioursExperience supporting behaviours that can be difficult in less specialised settings — each resident individually assessed.
  • Medication managementSecure handling and administration, with physician and pharmacy coordination.
  • Geriatric psychiatry accessResidents may see a geriatric psychiatrist who visits the building, where clinically appropriate.

Care built around the whole person

Our vision is a holistic approach to the mental, social, emotional, and physical needs of every resident — not just a diagnosis.

  • A small community of 16

With only sixteen residents, people develop real relationships with each other and the staff — never an institution.

  • 24/7/365 trained care

Navigating Memory Care: Specialized Support and Home-Like Environments

Navigating Elder Care · hosted by Laura Daniels · November 2025 · 26 minutes

Seasons founder Mona Talukdar joins host Laura Daniels to talk through what families actually face when memory loss outgrows what home can safely manage: how memory care genuinely differs from standard assisted living, the early warning signs that more support is needed, how a trained team responds to agitation, sundowning and wandering, and how families stay connected after a move.

Answers for families

Questions Families Ask About Seasons

Clear answers about care, cost, behaviour support and what makes our home-like communities different.

What makes Seasons different

Large, busy environments can be confusing and overstimulating for someone living with dementia. A small residence keeps routines familiar, keeps the same faces close by, and lets caregivers notice small changes early — the kind of detail that is easy to miss in a bigger setting.

Mona is a licensed Physical Therapist and the founder of Seasons, and she remains hands-on in day-to-day operations. She believes leadership should be visible and accountable — present alongside residents, families and the care team rather than managing from a distance.

Seasons supports residents across a range of dementia-related needs, including higher-acuity situations that some settings find difficult. Because safety and staffing must be considered responsibly, every prospective resident is individually assessed before move-in so we can be honest about whether we are the right fit.

Staffing & clinical support

Seasons is designed around an approximately one-to-four or one-to-five caregiver-to-resident ratio, helping our team know each resident closely and respond more personally. Staffing is planned around residents’ assessed needs and can vary by shift and acuity — we are happy to talk you through current staffing during a visit.

Yes. Seasons has experience supporting residents with complex dementia-related behaviours that may be difficult to manage in less specialised settings — for example agitation, resistance to personal care, wandering, sleep disruption or anxiety. Every prospective resident is individually assessed so that safety, staffing and care needs can be considered responsibly.

Yes. Our team supports secure medication storage, administration in line with physician orders, coordination with the resident’s physician and pharmacy, refill communication and clear records. The exact scope is provided under our licensing and care policies, and is confirmed for each resident during assessment.

Residents may have access to a geriatric psychiatrist who sees patients in the building, supporting assessment and treatment planning where clinically appropriate. This is visiting specialist access rather than 24-hour on-site psychiatric care, and availability and any billing arrangements are confirmed individually.

Care begins with an individual assessment before move-in, which becomes a personalised care plan covering daily support, health needs, routines and preferences. Plans are reviewed as needs change, and families are involved in those conversations.

Cost & admissions

Seasons offers an all-inclusive monthly rent designed to make costs clearer for families — covering accommodation, home-cooked meals, daily care and support, activities and routine services. Optional or third-party services, such as visiting specialist appointments or personal supplies, are agreed separately.

We do not apply automatic annual rent increases. If a resident’s assessed care needs change significantly, we discuss any adjustment openly with the family rather than applying an automatic yearly rise.

Final pricing is based on the resident’s assessed needs and any separately agreed optional or third-party services. We confirm the details in writing before move-in so there are no surprises.

The most reliable way is an assessment together with a private visit. We will be straightforward with you — if we do not believe we are the right setting for your loved one’s needs, we will say so and help you think through alternatives.

Yes. A private visit is the best way to feel whether Seasons is the right home. You can request a visit at a time that suits you, or call us on (210) 584-4238 to talk first.

Family life & daily experience

Families have direct contact with the team who care for their loved one every day. We reach out when something changes rather than waiting to be asked, and you are welcome to call and speak with someone who actually knows your family member.

Days follow a gentle, familiar rhythm — personal care with dignity, home-cooked meals shared together, activities and time outdoors, quieter rest periods, and support that flexes around how each resident is feeling that day.

Activities are matched to each resident’s abilities and stage, and are designed to be enjoyable rather than testing — music, movement, sensory and familiar everyday tasks that create moments of connection and success.

Yes. Families are welcome, and many join for meals, activities and celebrations. Staying part of daily life matters to residents and to the people who love them.

We reassess and adjust the care plan, and we talk it through with the family. If needs ever progress beyond what we can safely and appropriately provide, we say so honestly and help the family plan the next step.

Still deciding? Call (210) 584-4238 and speak with someone who knows our residents, or send us a question.

Come see if Seasons is the right home

A visit is the best way to feel the difference. We’ll answer your questions with warmth and no pressure — and if now isn’t the right time, that’s okay too.
